Our community has a lot of creative, talented people and many have music-related skills and talents, and a few favorite songs they'd like to share. But they don't necessarily have "a band" or places to perform in clubs or restaurants in the area.
Our vision is to provide performance opportunities for folks who don't currently have them. This night is not for seasoned performers, but you can invite a backup musician or two for support, and its OK if they do "play out." We envision one, two, or three performers in an act. No drums please, but a cajon or other forms of simple percussion are welcome.
Rick Kacinko (of Rick K and Friends) will provide the PA and two mics (a third mic can be available if needed) and one 88 key piano-like keyboard (with some organ and other sounds).
Performers must arrive around 6:00 for sound check.
Schedule:
6:00 - 7:00 Setup and sound check
7:00 - 7:20 Dean Blackstock
7:25 - 7:45 Graham Garcia
7: 50 - 8:10 Ken Werner
8:15 - 9:15 Rick K and Friends
9:20 - 9:40 Mickey Klein
9:45 - 10:05 Mike Gustine
We accepted six applicants that fit the profile (no professionals), and assigned them a number that matched the order in which they applied. We then conducted "lottery" to assign the first five time slots, based on a series of numbers from 1 to 6 as "called" by an online random number generator. Join us and enjoy the show.
