Haven’t heard of THE EXTRACTORS? Don’t worry, this relatively new band is made up of friendly faces that have played around town for years, including here at Moonstock!!
Officially known as “DR. McROSENMILLER & THE EXTRACTORS” (but you can call them “THE EXTRACTORS”), they emerged out of the ashes of Covid in 2022 as the result of a serendipitous collaboration between friends and fellow musicians. They quickly realized how much common ground they had - and how much fun it would be to play some old-school “classic rock”. And fun they are having!
They made their official debut at the annual Bob Perks Foundation charity concert event “Rock the 80’s” - and have also played at the Jana Marie Foundation’s “JAM Fest” downtown, among other places.
But don’t let their participation in the 80’s event fool you - their repertoire is firmly rooted in 70’s classic rock (Steely Dan, Jackson Browne, Elton John, Billy Joel, Steve Miller Band, Foreigner, etc). But they do in fact dip their toes into the 80s (The Cars, Bruce Springsteen, Peter Gabriel, etc.).
The Extractors tend to have a high “wow factor” - playing songs that are very familiar, but that you don’t hear many bands play live these days (they also have a few surprises up their sleeves!) They are energetic and fun on stage - and excited to see where the future goes!
THE EXTRACTORS are:
Michael Cullin (formerly of Cousin Neddie/The Armadillos/The Rockfathers), guitar and vocals
Steve Fishbaine (Cousin Neddie), keyboards and vocals
David McKee (Cousin Neddie), drums and vocals
James Miller (Cone of Silence/Spider Kelly), guitar and vocals
Eric Rosengrant (The Rockfathers, Ivory Debris), bass and vocals
