Apparently Judson Mantz isn't the only cursed Moonstock Artist.
Unfortunately, the weather is predicted to go south precisely at concert time, so we have decided to relocate this concert to our gracious hosts at University Wine Company. The forecast on the right predicts thunderstorms for both of the concert hours and a 49% chance of rain for the following hour.
In discussing what to do, Molly said, "Trust me... if I'm at the gig, it WILL rain. Ted says I'm cursed." After having the Chris Rattie and the New Rebels concert rained out mid-concert, I'm not eager to repeat the experience.

The Proch family have agreed to allow us to use the space, and will be selling wine (made on site), beer, water, juice boxes, "mocktails" and cocktails made with spirits crafted in PA.

This scene from out final concert of last year proves that many of you will endure a wet evening, but we're hoping that a nice indoor option will be preferred and will result in a larger, more comfortable audience.

His latest adventures include being a featured soloist with the Wooster Symphony Orchestra and Paquito D’Rivera, playing and teaching blues harmonica in Clarkesdale Mississippi, opening as a solo act for the Marshall Tucker Band and Nancy Griffith. Over the years he has also appeared with Taj Mahal, Bo Diddley, Maria Muldaur, and many others, performed and given harmonica workshops here and abroad."
Richard has been called one of the "Harmonica Geeks that Saved the Soul of the Blues Harp." He loves and lives music, and he shares his skills, knowledge, and passion with scores of followers who benefit from the perspectives he shares on his blog and listserv about music and living. We are very fortunate to have Richard on the planet, not just as a performer, but as a model of what introspection and reflection can do.
Richard's outstanding performance at Moonstock in 2017 resulted in a standing ovation pictured in the gallery below and all proceeds donated to the hurricane Maria relief fund.
Tonight's concert is a go! The band is here, and we have checked both Accuweather and The Weather Channel's radar, and we see no reason that rain will come to where we are (or even very close).
It's going to be a great evening. Temperatures will be comfy, not humid, gentle breezes. Yummy.

Because nobody loves a soggy concert (especially not the musicians) we have decided to dodge the rain, and hold the concert at University Wine Company (UWC).

Rain Causes Tonight's Concert to be Relocated!
Tonight's concert will be held indoors in Buffalo Run Farm's Equestrian Arena.
It's going to be a rainy, soggy day (and evening) so we're moving tonight's event to an indoor location, just minutes from our normal Moonstock grounds. Don't let the Bellefonte address fool you. It's much closer to Bernel Road Park, the airport, and Toftrees than it is to Bellefonte. Forecasts of wet weather caused relocation.
We have been watching the weather for two weeks.
For two weeks now, forecasts have predicted rain both before and during concert time. Because even the threat of rain diminishes attendance for an outdoor concert, and because rain puts the band's equipment at risk, we have decided to move tonight's event indoors.
The Extractors have been great at communicating with us, and Becky from Buffalo Run Farm has offered us her equestrian arena, just five minutes from our normal location.

We are in conversations with the Moonshiners to determine whether to investigate indoor options, or re-reschedule.

Friday, August 22 "Tussey Mountain Moonshiners"

Buffalo Run Farm Equestrian Arena is GREAT for Moonstock!
It's out of the rain!
The Arena is a large, covered, wooden space the is used for equestrian training, shows, and competitions. The bands can drive right in and unload equipment with no risk of water damage.
There's Plenty of Room
We have now held two concerts there and the sound is GREAT, and we can accommodate ALL of our fun friends. (We had over 100 people there for "The Extractors.")
And, there's plenty of parking surrounding the arena.

Thanks to our generous host, Becky Koleno, we can use this space without costs to Moonstock, allowing us to keep it free to attendees.
Please bring chairs if you can. We will have a few available, but not enough. The floor is covered with shredded rubber and crushed stone, so chairs are probably better than blankets.
